Funding ACAF - did you know we are an independent 501(c)3?
We're not a city entity. They do support & promote our work, but they don't fund it.
Our budget for 2020 is $250K - that means we need to raise at least this much to complete our planned programs & projects.
We have two $10K sponsors so far this year - Tropicana Atlantic City & ACDEVCO. We're talking to several businesses about sponsorships and have applied to grants & other funding entities.
You can help by:
Talking about art, it's impact. When you talk about ACAF, mention we are a non-profit!
Make a donation - every dollar counts. Individuals & businesses may make online donations.
Talk to Joyce if you want to learn more about sponsorships.
Ideas/Feedback/Questions
Get more info about murals from muralists - for tours, Jitneys, etc. Ask the artists for more information.
Great suggestion. We do this already and are working to get more information, as well as building an online database so you can easily learn about the murals.
How do we address community response to murals?
We weigh community feedback and make decisions about responses based on the whole of the feedback. Thus far, we've found that murals that some people dislike others truly love - and incorporating this into our city is an exercise in building community & seeing your experience as bigger than yourself! Art is subjective & that's what makes it fun!
Sponsor or donate towards a specific item - like sponsor a chair ($350)?
We're trying to figure out ways to create a balance in how we distribute funds internally and help donors feel connected to giving. All feedback & ideas are welcome!
How can we make the Adirondack chairs last longer?
Prep! Volunteer team can prep all chairs prior to artist pick-up.
Investigate marine-grade paint, may limit color palette as trade-off to extend longevity.
Investigate alternate sealants - CRDA handles sealing so we are working with them!
Will chairs be on the Inlet side of the Boardwalk?
We don't determine placement but we will request that CRDA places some chairs here!
Can ACAF provide volunteers for 48 Blocks AC projects?
If you need volunteers you can create an outline of what you need & when, and we will distribute to the community. We encourage you to do the same!
