Spring is almost here and we're looking forward to a bright year. I'd like to share updates, recap our fantastic Winter Arts Mixer, and provide details on recently received funding for exciting public art programs this year.

Thank you to everyone who made our first Winter Arts Mixer at Anchor Rock Club a success! With 21 exhibiting artists, 11 vendors, and nearly 180 attendees, the event showcased AC’s thriving arts community. From a dynamic pop-up gallery to the premiere screening of the 100th Mural documentary, the night was filled with enthusiasm for the arts that will inspire and inform future programming.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve received long-awaited grant funding from the NJ Economic Development Authority! This support will fund two new murals and six refurbishment projects in 2025, and has enabled us to hire a full-time program managerβ€”a major win for public arts in Atlantic City.

As we gear up for these projects, we’re collaborating with local and regional artists to bring impactful, inspiring murals to life. It is important to the Atlantic City Arts Foundation and me personally that this funding is directed toward advancing local and regional artists and instilling civic self esteem in our community. Grant funding comes with specific requirements, so we’ve made adjustments to ensure we can execute the vision while maximizing impact. You can learn more about the grant in our dedicated blog post. Premiered at our first-ever Winter Arts Mixer, β€œAlways Dreaming, Always Growing” covers the journey of Atlantic City and lead artist Manuela GuillΓ©n to install the 100th milestone mural in our city. Filmmaker Jimmy Chairman followed GuillΓ©n and the supporting artists throughout the installation of the 98th, 99th and 100th murals to showcase this achievement and underscore what it means for Atlantic City.

πŸ₯ Drumroll please…North to Shore to sponsor the 2025 ARTeriors!

The Atlantic City Arts Foundation has secured its first sponsor for ARTeriors 2025β€”thanks to a $10K grant from the North to Shore Festival Community Grant program! North to Shore, administered by NJPAC, is a festival that presents arts in Atlantic City, Asbury Park, and Newark. This year they instituted a new funding model that supports arts programming year-round in Atlantic City. 

Tina Notaro, Dylan Caccamesi (Weekday Underground), and Michael Atkins attended NJPAC’s North to Shore press conference in Newark on March 4th. Vibes are positive behind Atlantic City’s year-round presentation of arts programming. 

Slated for late 2025, ARTeriors will transform a vacant commercial space into an immersive art experience, engaging 10–20 artists. With this funding, we’re on track to bring back this signature event, welcoming both locals and visitors to celebrate the power of arts placemaking.

Atlantic City Arts Foundation is proud to welcome Tina Notaro as our full-time program manager, a hire made possible by state funds from the NJEDA. Tina’s work elevating the arts in Atlantic City deserves deep appreciation, regularly presenting Beach Rave and Night Markets at Anchor Rock Club where she’s earned β€œall star” status. If you’ve never been to Tina’s events, be sure to check out the next one!

As a creative herself, she brings an in-depth understanding of artists, creative endeavors, and opportunities locally in addition to professional experience in multimedia production and communications.

As program manager, Tina will lead the installation of upcoming mural projects and the reactivation of signature programs: 48 Blocks AC, ARTeriors, and Chalk About AC. We are incredibly fortunate to welcome Tina aboard and look forward to great things ahead.
